Ashgate Specialist Support School Admissions

Admissions can be made at any time during the year, but usually take place in September. Pupils may transfer from local special or mainstream schools or nurseries. Admissions are controlled by the Local Authority, and a student entering Ashgate School will normally have a Statement of Educational Need or an Education, Health & Care Plan or be in the process of applying for statutory Assessment for SEN.

Visits to School
We recommend that parents and carers visit school when choosing the most appropriate provision for their child. The Headteacher / Deputy Headteacher will be pleased to show you around school and answer your questions. Please contact the main office to arrange a visit.

Tel: 0161 359 5322

If parents / carers wish to have Ashgate named as the preferred school on their EHCP, (Section I, My Placement) they should notify their SENCO and / or casework officer from the Statutory Assessment Team.

If the school is oversubscribed the LA may name 'Specialist Provision on the EHCP when a place becomes available.
