Autumn Topic Focus: Farm

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Ducks Year: 2023 - 2024

Ducks class have had an amazing term learning about the different farm animals, the sounds they make and learning the key facts. We have explored this topic through art, cooking, dance, music, literacy and numeracy.

The children have all taken part in a range of activities such as milking a cow using a glove, shearing a sheep using shaving cream, putting the tail on the donkey, making omlettes using chicken eggs and created their very own animal's using different materials or cooking ingredients.

They have also been on a visit to the local farm, where they met calfs, sheep and horses. They had so much fun and did amazing at following instructions throughout the day.

Ducks have throughly enjoyed our topic book 'Driving my Tractor' and will sit and listen to the story whilst Shannon acts out using the different animals, a tractor and trailer. After the story, they take part in a quiz to practise the knowledge they have learnt.

All the children have done amazing at understanding the different animals, the sounds they make and the key facts!

Well done!
