Occupational Therapy with Dionne
This term, we have been collaborating with our occupational therapist, Dionne, to learn ways of managing our emotions. We have explored the different zones of regulation and how they impact us. We have also engaged in activities to help us stay in the green zone, which is a state of happiness, calmness, and focus, which helps us be ready for work. We have used fidgets, done some movement breaks, and tried out different sensory activities. Moreover, we have watched videos of different people and identified the zone of regulation they are in, proposing suggestions on how they can get back to the green zone. Additionally, we have learned different breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques to promote self-awareness and relaxation. By integrating these strategies into our daily routine, we are developing valuable skills to regulate our emotions effectively and maintain a positive mindset throughout the day.
