A little more about Wren Class...
In Wrens, we shape learning around each pupil’s interests, strengths, and needs, using fun cross‑curricular topics and lots of hands‑on experiences. Our aim is to help every child feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.
Communication is a big part of our day. We use a Total Communication approach, which means we value all the different ways children express themselves — talking, signing, gestures, behaviour, symbols, and objects of reference. You’ll see visual supports everywhere in our classroom to help pupils understand routines, make choices, and connect with others.
We keep things calm, predictable, and nurturing. Support for both sensory and emotional regulation is woven into everything we do, helping pupils stay comfortable and ready to learn. Over time, we want our Wren learners to grow in independence, resilience, and confidence as they move on to new challenges at Ashgate School. Please never hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns no matter how big or small, we really do love to hear from you.
