Learning Addition Through Real-Life Experiences ➕🛒🌳

This term, we have been focusing on developing our addition skills in lots of fun and practical ways! ✏️🧮 As part of our maths curriculum, we have explored addition not just in the classroom, but out and about in real-life situations too.

In the forest 🌳, we added up leaves, sticks, and pinecones, while at our role-play shop 🛍️, we practised buying and adding different items together. In the playground 🛝, we worked in teams to add how many jumps, skips, and throws we could do! These activities made learning meaningful and helped the children see how addition is used all around us.

Alongside these experiences, we have also been using hands-on resources like counting objects 🧸, playing interactive games 🎮, and practising our number formation ✍️ on worksheets to build strong number skills. It’s been fantastic to see everyone growing in confidence with their maths!
